1 -- Jolley's Ranch at Hobble Creek Canyon

Location: This park/campground area is located about 1 mile east of Hobble Creek Golf Course in Springville, UT; up Right Fork Hobble Creek Road

Look/Style: Outdoors, Nature, with trees and mountains, there is a white barn as well.  Though this location is technically a park, most of the photographs look like you’re out in nature, not at a park.

Best Time of Year: Late Spring through Fall

Best Time of Day: About 2 hours before sunset

Info: This is a great location, one of my favorites.  It is a fairly well know photography spot for those in the Springville/Mapleton area, but I never see people photographing where I like to photograph.  If you can wait till May to shoot here the trees are starting to show quite a bit of green.  Then it’s great through the summer and into the beginning of fall.

Location Fee: $0

2 -- Provo River by Utah Lake

Location: Along Provo River down by the Marina in Provo, UT

Look/Style: Outdoor, Nature, there is a gravel/dirt road with trees creating a canopy over the road - more or less.

Best Time of Year: Year Round Access, just different looks depending on the time of year

Best Time of Day: Morning or Evening (about an hour and a half before sunset)

Info: A great location year round.  There are mosquitos in some spots during late spring through early summer.

3 -- Orchard at Utah State Hospital

Location: 1300 East Center Street, Provo, UT

Look/Style: Outdoor, Nature, there is an apple orchard and a rock amphitheater

Best Time of Year: Year Round Access, just different looks depending on the time of year.  There are a couple weeks in the spring where the trees are in full bloom.  The fall can have some great color.

Best Time of Day: Morning or Evening (about an hour and a half before sunset)

Info: A great location, but also well known.  It can be very busy with photographers and families/couples during the spring and fall.

Location Fee: $20

4 -- Downtown Provo

Location: Center Street in Provo, UT

Look/Style: Urban, city/street feel with some brick walls, stores, etc.

Best Time of Year: Year Round

Best Time of Day: Morning or Evening (about an hour and a half before sunset)

Info: If you want a more urban feel without going to Salt Lake City, downtown Provo has some fun little pockets that work great.

Location Fee: $0

5 -- Stewart Falls (near trail head)

Location: Up Provo Canyon, located past Sundance Ski Resort and Aspen Grove

Look/Style: Outdoor, Nature, some area with fields, and other with aspen trees

Best Time of Year: Summer to Fall, though accessible into the winter depending on snow levels.

Best Time of Day: About 2-2.5 hours before sunset

Info: This is a great location if you want aspen trees.  If you’re wanting more of a scenic mountain look I’d suggest going up American Fork Canyon to Tibble Fork Reservoir.  However, the aspen trees here are great.

Location Fee: $0

6 -- Wadley Farms

Location: 35 East 400 North Street, Lindon, UT

Look/Style: Best way for me to describe it would be an Italian/Rustic feel.  There are some big, rustic doors; tall trees; fountains; walkways; vineyard; and more.

Best Time of Year: Late Spring through Fall

Best Time of Day: 1.5 hours before sunset (However, it can be hard to schedule an evening shoot here due to weddings/receptions; so, morning shoots can work).

Info: Scheduling a shoot here can be difficult, it is a very popular event venue in Utah County

Location Fee: If you are having your wedding/reception at Wadley Farms there is no cost to do a shoot there on a different day.  If you don’t have an event scheduled with them the cost is $40 an hour.

7 -- American Fork Amphitheater

Location: 851 East 700 North, American Fork, UT — Just west of Mt Timpanogos Temple

Look/Style: This area has some big evergreen trees, a beautiful amphitheater, and some other fun little spots.

Best Time of Year: Year Round Access

Best Time of Day: Morning or Evening (about an hour and a half before sunset)

Info: This is one location that I actually enjoy shooting in the morning just as much as in the evening.  You need to check the schedule to make sure an event isn’t happening on the day you want to do your shoot if you want to use the amphitheater at all.  Usually, the rest of the park can be used even if an event is going on.

Location Fee: $0

8 -- Field Behind Lone Peak High School

Location: This field is located to the northwest of Lone Peak High School.  Lone Peak HS’s address is 10189 North 4800 West, Highland, UT

Look/Style: Outdoor, Nature, a field with long weeds/grass

Best Time of Year: Summer through Fall

Best Time of Day: 1.5 hours before sunset

Info: This is a great location for some specific shots with a cool field; however, a full shoot here is a little difficult.  Usually we’ll go to American Fork Amphitheater or Highland Glen Park before going to this field.  I don’t charge a second location fee when going between these three locations (within an hour and a half shoot).

Location Fee: $0

9 -- Highland Glen Park

Location: 4800 Knight Ave, Highland, UT — located just west of Lone Peak High School

Look/Style: Outdoor, Nature, this is more of a nature feel than a park feel; except for some paved paths.

Best Time of Year: Spring through Fall

Best Time of Day: 1.5 hours before sunset

Info: This is a busy park, especially during good weather in the summer.  So be prepared to be shooting around people.  I highly recommend shooting here and then going up to the field by Lone Peak High School afterwards.  I don't charge a second location fee when shooting at both these locations (it’s a 3 minute drive).

Location Fee: $0

10 -- Tibble Fork Reservoir at American Fork Canyon

Location: Located about 15 minutes up American Fork Canyon

Look/Style: Outdoor, Nature, this is a great location for getting nature and mountains, a lot of big evergreen trees with some aspen and some oak.  The reservoir can be fun to shoot as well, but sometimes it’s busy.

Best Time of Year: Year Round Access; however, by late winter the snow can make it either difficult or amazing, it depends on the year.

Best Time of Day: About 2-2.5 hours before sunset

Info: This is a great location, but a lot of photographers use this location, so it can be busy at times.

Location Fee: $6 per vehicle; it's free if you have a National Parks Pass

11 -- Thanksgiving Point

Location: Thanksgiving Point, Lehi, UT

Look/Style: Different gardens, flowers, trees, structures (arches, pergolas, walkways)

Best Time of Year: Spring to Fall

Best Time of Day: 1.5 hours before sunset
